Jason Li grew up in Shanghai and came to the UK to study in 1993. He graduated with an MSc in International Hotel and Tourism Management from Oxford Brookes University. He started his career as assistant restaurant manager at Hakkasan before working in a number of departments at the Dorchester hotel. He has worked as Business Development Manager China and South East Asia of Royal Garden Hotel and General Manager of the Hotel's Chinese restaurant, Min Jiang.
Jason is also a chef who loves cooking and enjoys sharing his passion with friends, colleagues and customers. His talent for cooking has made him popular in circles of food lovers, especially those who are fond of oriental cuisine. Jason contributes his time and effort to promote Chinese cuisine in the UK.
Jason helps charities to promote healthy Chinese cooking and eating in secondary schools as part of the Healthy Chinese Cuisine Ambassadors project. He conducts demontrations at specially designed workshops for students at KS3 and KS4 level, and also helps to train food technology teachers so that they can replicate healthy traditional and modern Chinese dishes for their students.
Jason also regularly writes columns for The Chinese Weekly Newspaper on Chinese food recipes and restaurants reviews in London.
